Position Title: Public Relations Officer 
Period: 6 Months with possibility of extension depending on the work performance 
Location: Middle Governorate

Job purpose summary:

The role of the public relations function revolves around building and promoting a positive image for the organization, communicating its messages to the local and international community, and raising awareness of the issues it cares about. This role is essential for attracting funding, maintaining partnerships, and building the trust of the community and target beneficiaries in the organization’s work.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.     Developing communication strategies:

·         Developing effective communication strategies to improve the organization’s public image and increase awareness of its goals and programs.

·         Identifying the target audience and ensuring that messages are appropriately directed to local organizations, funders, the media, and international partners.

2.     Communicating with the media:

·         Building strong relationships with local and international media to convey the organization’s messages and cover its projects and events.

·         Preparing press releases, articles, and newsletters that highlight the organization’s achievements and successes, and writing stories that highlight the impact of the organization’s work on the community.

3.     Reputation management and trust building:

·         Working to enhance the organization’s image by building trust with the public, funders, and partners.

·         Dealing with any issues that may negatively affect the organization’s reputation, such as delays in project implementation or any legal or funding issues.

4.     Managing awareness campaigns:

·         Designing and implementing media campaigns to raise awareness about issues addressed by the organization, such as human rights, education, the environment, or health.

·         Coordinating activities that promote the organization’s goals, such as seminars, workshops, and community initiatives.

5.     Organizing events and partnerships:

·         Organizing events, conferences, and seminars that help interact with the local community and donors, and attract new partners.

·         Facilitating cooperation with other organizations, governmental organizations, and civil society to promote joint activities.

6.     Preparing reports and evaluating performance:

·         Analyzing the results of media activities and campaigns, and providing detailed reports to senior management on the effectiveness of public relations strategies.

·         Providing periodic reports to donors and partners on the development of projects and activities managed by the organization.

7.     Managing social media channels:

·         Managing the organization's accounts on social media platforms to increase access to a larger audience, whether local or international.

·         Publishing innovative and attractive content that reflects the organization's activities and consolidates the humanitarian and social messages it calls for.

8.     Managing relationships with donors and partners:

·         Building and maintaining long-term relationships with donors and partners to support the organization's financial and development projects.

·         Ensuring that donors and beneficiaries are constantly informed of the progress of activities and the results achieved.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as: Media, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or Political Science. An MBA, in Public Relations or Communication Management are preferred, especially for large organizations. would be added assets.
 

Experience:

·         A minimum of 5 years (3 for candidates with a Master’s degree) of relevant professional experience in the areas of public relations.

·         Experience in public relations, or provision of advisory services or similar;

·         Good knowledge of the policies and institutional frameworks relevant to the environmental protection, entrepreneurship, nature protection and/or climate change;

Skills:

·         Effective Communication: Ability to deliver complex messages in a simplified and effective manner.

·         Crisis Management: Dealing with issues that may affect the organization’s reputation in times of crisis.

·         Media Content Preparation: Advanced writing and editing skills to produce high-quality media materials.

·         Organization and Management: Ability to coordinate and organize various events and activities.

·         Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with funders and partners to secure ongoing support for projects. 

 

Languages:

·         Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills are required in both Arabic and English.
