Gaza/ Amidst the difficult conditions faced by shelters in the Gaza Strip, due to overcrowding of families and a significant increase in the number of displaced persons, these shelters suffer from several problems, including the Kamal Adwan School shelter in the Rafah Governorate - Tel al-Sultan, which accommodates more than 500 families totaling 3,000 individuals, with women representing 40%.

One of the main problems faced by the center is the presence of a health hazard behind the buildings due to the failure to drain the water coming from the classrooms that have been converted into accommodation rooms for the displaced. This health hazard has greatly affected health and the environment, increased the spread of insects, and had a particularly negative impact on children.

To address this problem, Agricultural Relief, as part of the "Multi-Sector Emergency Response - Gaza Sector" project funded by Islamic Relief - France and implemented by PARC, conducted a field visit and assessed the situation, concluding the necessity of extending drainage pipes and installing drains to properly drain water.

As part of the project, water filters were installed in each classroom to drain water from the inside to external pipes and from there to main drains. Thus, the problem was effectively addressed, the health hazard crisis was resolved, and proper water drainage was ensured.
