استجابت جمعية التنمية الزراعية "الإغاثة الزراعية" بشكل عاجل لمناشدة مزارعي منطقة عاطوف، من خلال تنفيذ تدخل طارئ تمثل في مدّ خط ناقل للمياه بطول (1200) متر وبقطر (6 إنش)، بهدف إنقاذ الأراضي الزراعية المهددة بالجفاف والتلف، وضمان استمرارية الإنتاج الزراعي في المنطقة، والتي تُقدّر قيمتها الإنتاجية بحوالي (4) مليون شيقل. ويأتي هذا التدخل في إطار جهود الإغاثة الزراعية  لحماية سبل العيش وتعزيز صمود المزارعين، بما يسهم في دعم الاقتصاد المحلي والحفاظ على دخل الأسر العاملة في القطاع الزراعي.

ويستهدف هذا التدخل حماية ما يقارب (800) دونم زراعي مزروعة بمختلف المحاصيل، في ظل الظروف الصعبة والتحديات المتفاقمة التي يواجهها المزارعون في المنطقة. ويستفيد من هذا المشروع أكثر من (60) مزارعًا ومزارعة، إضافة إلى مربي الثروة الحيوانية الذين يعتمدون بشكل أساسي على توفر مصادر المياه لاستمرار أنشطتهم الإنتاجية.

وجاءت هذه الاستجابة عقب اجتماع موسّع ضم مزارعين وممثلين عن مؤسسات محلية عاملة في المنطقة، حيث جرى خلاله استعراض حجم الأضرار الكبيرة التي لحقت بالقطاع الزراعي نتيجة شق طريق استيطاني في المنطقة، ما أدى إلى عزل آلاف الدونمات الزراعية، ومحاصرة مربي الثروة الحيوانية في منطقة الرأس الأحمر، وحرمانهم من الوصول إلى مصادر المياه، الأمر الذي فاقم من حدة الخسائر الاقتصادية وأثر بشكل مباشر على قدرة المزارعين على الصمود في أراضيهم.

كما شهدت المنطقة خلال الفترة الأخيرة سلسلة اعتداءات متكررة، تمثلت في تدمير خطوط المياه الناقلة والمغذية للأراضي الزراعية، وإلحاق أضرار جسيمة بالطرق الزراعية، فضلًا عن فرض قيود على حركة المزارعين ومنعهم من الوصول إلى أراضيهم باستخدام المركبات، ما تسبب في إعاقة عمليات نقل المنتجات الزراعية والمدخلات الأساسية من وإلى الحقول، وزيادة معاناة المزارعين بشكل كبير.

وفي هذا السياق، تؤكد "الإغاثة الزراعية" استمرارها في دعم صمود المزارعين وتعزيز قدرتهم على مواجهة التحديات، من خلال تنفيذ تدخلات طارئة ومستدامة، والعمل بالشراكة مع المؤسسات ذات العلاقة لتأمين الاحتياجات الأساسية، وفي مقدمتها المياه، بما يسهم في حماية الأراضي الزراعية وتعزيز الأمن الغذائي وصون سبل العيش في المناطق المهددة.

 

The Agricultural Development Association (PARC) responded promptly to an urgent appeal from farmers in the Atouf area by implementing a rapid emergency intervention. This included the installation of a 1,200-meter water transmission pipeline with a diameter of 6 inches, aimed at saving agricultural lands threatened by drought and deterioration, and ensuring the continuity of agricultural production in the area, estimated at approximately ILS 4 million in value.

This intervention forms part of PARC’s ongoing efforts to protect livelihoods and enhance farmers’ resilience, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the local economy and safeguarding the income of households dependent on the agricultural sector.

The intervention seeks to protect approximately 800 dunums of agricultural land cultivated with diverse crops, in light of the increasingly challenging conditions faced by farmers in the area. It directly benefits more than 60 male and female farmers, in addition to livestock breeders who rely heavily on access to water resources to sustain their productive activities.

This rapid response followed a consultative meeting that brought together farmers and representatives of local institutions operating in the area. The meeting highlighted the significant damage inflicted on the agricultural sector as a result of the construction of a settlement road, which has led to the isolation of thousands of agricultural dunums. It has also resulted in the confinement of livestock breeders in the Ras al-Ahmar area and their restricted access to water sources, further exacerbating economic losses and directly undermining farmers’ ability to remain on their land.

In recent months, the area has witnessed a series of repeated attacks, including the destruction of water transmission and supply lines serving agricultural lands, as well as severe damage to agricultural roads. Additionally, restrictions have been imposed on farmers’ movement, preventing them from accessing their lands by vehicles. This has significantly disrupted the transportation of agricultural produce and essential inputs to and from the fields, further intensifying the hardships faced by farmers.

In this context, PARC reaffirms its continued commitment to supporting farmers’ resilience and strengthening their capacity to confront ongoing challenges through the implementation of both emergency and sustainable interventions. The organization also continues to work in close partnership with relevant stakeholders to secure essential needs, foremost among them water, in order to protect agricultural lands, enhance food security, and safeguard livelihoods in vulnerable and at-risk areas.
