Job Description:

The Agricultural Development Association (PARC), in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is implementing a six-month participatory assessment of agrifood systems in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), covering the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The assessment aims to generate robust, policy-relevant, and contextually grounded evidence on agrifood system disruptions, stakeholder dynamics, and recovery pathways.

To support the implementation of this assessment, PARC is seeking to recruit qualified professionals for the following positions in its headquarter at Ramallah:

Position Title: Researcher

The Researcher will support the implementation of research activities, including data collection coordination, preliminary analysis, and technical inputs, under the guidance and supervision of the Lead Researcher.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Support the design and refinement of KIIs, FGDs, stakeholder mapping tools, and data collection templates, including piloting and revisions.

·         Assist in organizing and conducting KIIs and FGDs, ensuring adherence to sampling frameworks.

·         Analyze stakeholder data across agrifood value chains, and conduct desk reviews to support baseline reconstruction and event timeline development.

·         Maintain organized and secure datasets (transcripts, notes, event database), ensure quality control, and conduct initial qualitative coding and thematic summaries for review.

·         Contribute to workshops, documentation, and drafting of background, methodology, and descriptive sections, while supporting coordination and reporting processes.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in agriculture, economics, development studies, social sciences or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in:
    • Mixed-methods research
    • Food systems, rural development, or livelihoods
  • Proven experience with qualitative research leadership (KII, FGD)
  • Experience working with FAO or similar international organizations and implementing similar assessments.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic. 
  • A short writing sample or previous assessment/report relevant to qualitative research, rural development, or agrifood systems.
