Gaza - The Agricultural Development Association (PARC) distributed 35,000 bottles of drinking water to displaced families in Mawasi Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, during the first and second days of the blessed month of Ramadan.

This initiative comes as a result of the deterioration of the drinking water situation in the Mawasi Khan Yunis area and the difficulty in obtaining it due to the destruction of all desalination plants in Khan Yunis Governorate.

Displaced persons suffer greatly to obtain drinking water, as it requires walking long distances and paying four times its normal price, amidst the lack of income for the vast majority of IDPs in the area. This leads them to resort to drinking well water or household use water, negatively impacting their health, especially children, given the absence of the minimum healthcare facilities in the area.
