في إطار جهودها المستمرة للاستجابة للاحتياجات الإنسانية وتعزيز الوصول إلى خدمات المياه الأساسية، بدأت جمعية الإغاثة الزراعية الفلسطينية (PARC)، بالشراكة مع Christian Aid – DEC، بتنفيذ تدخلًا لتوسعة وتحسين شبكة توزيع المياه السطحية في منطقة الإقليمي بمحافظة خانيونس، وذلك ضمن مشروع "الدعم الإنساني المتكامل والتعافي المبكر لفلسطين: سُبُل إلى السلامة والتعافي والمرونة – المرحلة الثانية"

ويستفيد من هذا التدخل نحو 2,000 أسرة من الأسر النازحة المقيمة في عدد من مواقع النزوح في منطقة الإقليمي، بما يشمل: النخيل (1)، النخيل (2)، المجد (1)، المجد (2)، أجيال (1)، أجيال (2)، مجد (3)، الوعد، نسيم، والسلطان.

ويتضمن التدخل تنفيذ شبكة مياه رئيسية بقطر 2 إنش وبطول إجمالي يقارب 2,100 متر، إلى جانب شبكة خطوط فرعية بقطر 1 إنش وبطول يقارب 2,900 متر، إضافة إلى تنفيذ وتجهيز مختلف الوصلات والملحقات اللازمة لضمان كفاءة تشغيل الشبكة واستدامة الاستفادة منها.

وترتبط الشبكة بأربعة آبار مياه قائمة في المنطقة، تبلغ قدرة كل بئر 5.5 حصان، بما يتيح الاستفادة من مصادر المياه والبنية التحتية القائمة، وتحسين كفاءة توزيع المياه ووصولها إلى التجمعات السكانية المستهدفة.

ويأتي تنفيذ هذا التدخل استجابةً للتحديات التي تواجهها الأسر النازحة في الوصول إلى المياه اللازمة للاستخدامات المنزلية، في ظل محدودية مصادر المياه والحاجة إلى نقلها لمسافات طويلة من نقاط التزويد، إلى جانب الاعتماد على المياه المحلاة المنقولة بواسطة الصهاريج لتغطية جزء من الاحتياجات اليومية، وما يرافق ذلك من أعباء بدنية ولوجستية إضافية على الأسر.

ومن خلال تطوير شبكة توزيع أقرب إلى أماكن تجمع الأسر النازحة، يسهم التدخل في تحسين الوصول إلى المياه، وتقليل المسافات والأعباء المرتبطة بنقلها، وتعزيز كفاءة الاستفادة من مصادر المياه والبنية التحتية القائمة، بما يدعم قدرة الأسر المستهدفة على تلبية احتياجاتها المنزلية بصورة أكثر انتظامًا وملاءمة.

ويعكس هذا التدخل التزام جمعية الإغاثة الزراعية الفلسطينية وشركائها بمواصلة تنفيذ الاستجابات الإنسانية ذات الأثر المباشر على حياة الأسر المتضررة والنازحة، والمساهمة في تحسين ظروفها المعيشية وتعزيز قدرتها على الصمود والتعافي في ظل الظروف الإنسانية الراهنة.

PARC Implements Water Network to Support Around 2,000 Displaced Families in Al-Iqlimi, Khan Younis

 

As part of its continued efforts to respond to humanitarian needs and improve access to essential water services, the Palestinian Agricultural Development Association (PARC), in partnership with Christian Aid – DEC, has implemented an intervention to extend and improve the surface water distribution network in the Al-Iqlimi area of Khan Younis Governorate. The intervention is being implemented under the project: Integrated Humanitarian Support and Early Recovery for Palestine: Pathways to Safety, Recovery, and Resilience – Phase II.”

The intervention is benefiting approximately 2,000 displaced families residing across several displacement sites in the Al-Iqlimi area, including Al-Nakheel (1), Al-Nakheel (2), Al-Majd (1), Al-Majd (2), Ajyal (1), Ajyal (2), Majd (3), Al-Waad, Naseem, and Al-Sultan.

The intervention includes the installation of approximately 2,100 metres of main water pipelines with a diameter of 2 inches, in addition to approximately 2,900 metres of secondary water pipelines with a diameter of 1 inch. The works also include the installation and provision of the necessary connections, fittings, and accessories required to ensure the effective operation of the network and sustained access to the service.

The network is connected to four existing water wells in the area, each with a capacity of 5.5 horsepower, enabling more efficient use of existing water resources and infrastructure while improving water distribution and access across the targeted communities.

The intervention responds to the significant challenges faced by displaced families in accessing water for essential domestic needs. Limited water sources, combined with the need to transport water over long distances from supply points, have placed additional physical and logistical burdens on households. Families also rely, in part, on trucked desalinated water to meet their daily needs, further increasing the pressure associated with securing sufficient water supplies.

By extending the water distribution network closer to where displaced families are residing, the intervention contributes to improving access to water, reducing the distances and burdens associated with water transportation, and enhancing the efficient use of existing water resources and infrastructure. This supports targeted families in meeting their essential household water needs in a more regular and accessible manner.

The intervention reflects the commitment of the Palestinian Agricultural Development Association (PARC) and its partners to delivering humanitarian responses that have a tangible impact on the lives of affected and displaced families, while contributing to improved living conditions and strengthening their resilience and early recovery amid the prevailing humanitarian challenges.
