# PARC Works to Strengthen Water Supply at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza
As part of its efforts to ensure the continuity of essential healthcare services in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Agricultural Development Association (PARC) is rehabilitating the water pumping system of a well that primarily serves a desalination plant with a capacity of 500 cubic meters per day. The plant supplies water to all departments of Al-Shifa Hospital, particularly the Dialysis Department.
The intervention includes the installation and commissioning of a submersible water pump and its connection to a water transmission line leading to the water storage tank and subsequently to the desalination plant. This work will enhance pumping efficiency and ensure a more reliable water supply, helping meet one of the essential operational requirements of the Dialysis Department. The department relies entirely on the availability of safe, desalinated water to ensure that dialysis sessions and other essential care and treatment procedures are carried out in accordance with the required health standards.
This intervention is being implemented under the project **“Integrated Humanitarian Support and Early Recovery for Palestine: Pathways to Safety, Recovery, and Resilience – Phase II,”** in partnership with Christian Aid and funded by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
Through this intervention, PARC reaffirms its commitment to supporting healthcare facilities and strengthening the essential infrastructure required for their continued operation, thereby contributing to the resilience of the healthcare system and improving access to essential services across the Gaza Strip.
